Goodbye, January!

Seeing Sean hold Finn is so heart-warming.
My 10 1/2 year old!

Cathleen helping Kieran do a craft that was way out of his league. She's very patient.

My three boys. Everyone loves to hug the baby!

Cathleen works diligently on her handwriting.

Sean had the honor of bringing out Daddy's pie while we sang happy birthday.
Happy 39th birthday, Adam!

Blurry but I had to capture the scene as Finn was brought down after his nap. Everyone stops what they're doing and dotes on him.

The Potomac is chock full of ice. We had a great walk down the river path, though the sidewalks are still not clear so the stroller had to be carried at one point.

On our walk around the neighborhood, every snow bank was traversed by Sweet Pea and Kieran!

Snowzilla

12 hours into the storm

Finn and I were up early Saturday and watched a snowplow get stuck outside our house.
Blurry pic of a junco on a peanut butter/bird seed pine cone the kids made at their first bird study class.

Mr. Finn is 9 months old.

He crawls fast. He is just now starting to crawl up stairs regularly. And he finally is eating a bit of table food.

Sean is LOVING the snow, of course. He had his first sleepover the first night! He's become good friends with a few boys. The 12 yo and 13 yo stayed the night here...they fell asleep sometime after midnight and woke up after 6 to go back outside! I'm going to go broke feeding them and Sean's not even a teen yet!

John (Sean's good buddy with whom he talks about living off the land up in Alaska), Sean 2 (new friend that all the kids call Sean 2) and Sean. They're all homeschooled and live on the same block.

Pea is loving the snow too! She took a bad fall the first day of the storm and Daddy rushed her to the ER. Large straight gash right in the middle of her forehead. I'll post phone pics eventually.

14" midway through the storm. Sean and John.

Snow!

Finally February brought our first of 3 or 4 decent snowfalls. The kids have been waiting for a long time! Thankfully we have a corner unit and corner lot so the kids have lots of space to play.

Sweet Pea was telling me today about her idea for a trap to catch one of the cute juncos we see often.
This was from last week's snow.

Today, we've gotten 7" so far. I think that's the most in a few years. Pea made her own little cave. Sean is in the background after running after the sidewalk plower.
