It's Fall!

After this shot, I decided to ditch the poses.
This beauty of a maple is in our yard. Lucky family we are!
The kids played on the grass with Finn.
Then everyone looked at Mommy. Except Finn. He just looks bewildered.

This was somewhat posed but they had fun so it turned out great. Except no Finn!
We decided to walk to the Potomac for one last shot. That photo op was a bust but the walk there was fun!

Easter and other photos

Easter! We didn't have time to do the picture before mass....it's always better earlier rather than later. The wind was blowing and the kids wanted their baskets!

Kieran loves scrubbing dishes and does a pretty good job of it!

Our old homeschool group met up at a trampoline park. The kids loved it and were exhausted, as was Adam!

Pea loved to climb up there and bounce down.

Kieran on his way down.

Cathleen worked very hard at roller skating. She was feeling a little deflated at this point! She fell on her bottom more times than I could count.

Adam flying his kite on a cold and blustery March day. Kids watching from path.

We attended the base easter egg "hunt". 9,000 eggs, divided among 4 age groups. There were more than enough eggs for everyone and the kids loved it. We then attended our old homeschool group's egg hunt later in the week and the kids were up to their ears in candy!

My baby!

Yes, first thing on Easter morning. I think I was mid-yawn.

Only posting for posterity!
As the weather's been warming up, we've been spending a lot of time on the river path. And off the path, as in this picture.

Out of order pictures. Group photo before the egg hunt on base.

Kieran's age group was second to go. He LOVED it!

My sweet Peeps.

Sean scans the room for more jelly beans. 3 days before he got 3-4" cut off his hair.

Snow!

Finally February brought our first of 3 or 4 decent snowfalls. The kids have been waiting for a long time! Thankfully we have a corner unit and corner lot so the kids have lots of space to play.

Sweet Pea was telling me today about her idea for a trap to catch one of the cute juncos we see often.
This was from last week's snow.

Today, we've gotten 7" so far. I think that's the most in a few years. Pea made her own little cave. Sean is in the background after running after the sidewalk plower.

Still here!

The older kids found baby turtles. Lots of handwashing going on after touching these sweet creatures!

Sean's turtle. We have a habit of killing pets so these were released soon after they arrived.

I love how Grammy did Pea's hair this day! 6 years old.

At this age, she can use her pinky to play notes whereas that was very difficult for Sean until later. She is learning her songs at a slower rate (I think) but she's learning them more thoroughly. It's really fun to see their learning differences!
Grammy again managed to take care of the kids AND get much needed projects done. We are so very thankful for Adam's parents and their willingness to lend their time!

The big trucks came to chop down the kids' fallen tree that they play on. It was across the street from the neighbor's house. We think they think it is their land (though I'm positive it's a common area) and they decided to pay someone to chop up the tree. Strangely enough, they left most of it there, in big chainsawed pieces. The kids were NOT pleased.

"They're chopping down Avalon, Mommy!" (The kids called the fallen tree Avalon.)

Sean loves finding snakes. He's picking up three at once.

Kieran pushing Sean's lawn mower.

Kieran copied everything Grampy did in the yard. So cute.

Still lovin' his bike.

Cute little ring snake tied himself in a half knot.

Lovely picture at their beginning of their trip to Williamsburg!

As I'm readying the house to sell, I am having to clear the walls. Sean's science unit worked through the anatomy of the human body.

We have been working so hard on decluttering and decorating!
