Kieran is still the sweet boy he's always been. He's the first to go out and make new friends. He says, "Heeeeey, Jasmine!" (insert any name) as a friend (almost all much older than him) goes by. He's happy playing games outside (until they end in his hurt feelings or injury:( ), playing a board game, reading (not quite reading yet) books, and begging to watch a show or play a computer game. Little story: As I'm making pancakes, Kieran says from the table, "Look, Mommy! I found a helping verb...IS!" and points to the "is" in Raisin Bran.😻 When I'm overwhelmed and just ready to lose my mind (not with him), he almost always says, "I love you, Mommy" in a soft voice that usually brings me back to sanity. He loves the pool/beach and is really working on swimming. He can't swim at all but he's able to put his face under water and happily bob around with the water up to his chin. He'll be taking swim lessons in August. Kieran is working on saying his Ls properly on his own. He liked Pre-k a lot once he was there but some days it took a bit of work to get him to agree to go. In theory, he wants to go to Kindergarten but I'm keeping him at home. I'm going to look into getting him on a sports team in the fall to fulfill his social desires, though he gets plenty of interaction in the neighborhood. He struggles with hearing "no" from me when it's something he really wants (and expects) to do, such as a screen use of some sort. I generally just let him fuss and he stops eventually. He is so loving and helpful to Finnian. Kieran has finally let me read him a chapter book. I've started and stopped quite a few with him but Charlotte's Web seems to be working. We're on chapter 6 and that's further than he listened to other books!

Ah, Kieran and violin. He's not a fan really but I finally found his currency. For every full practice session, he gets 30 minutes of the screen of his choice: PBS kids on tv or computer games. He's really improved since this reward system was in place.
